Another meal on the run. Took the Troll for a haircut and then stayed out playing. I thought ahead and took lunch with me but had nothing in the house - so ended up eating a bowl of cold plain pasta and a punnet of grapes. Oh yeah, got all the major food groups covered there huh?

I'm making up for it with a mighty serving of spaghetti bolognese for Saturday night dinner. The beauty of "basic spag bol" is you only need mince, passata and pasta to make it and then you chuck in whatever else you have lying around. I added seasoning, balsamic, Worcestershire, oregano and basil.

  • Very lean mince
  • Passata

  • Linguine
  • Whatever herbs, spices or condiments you have around

Just fry the mince until brown, add the passata and herbs etc and simmer for at least 20 mins - I left for an hour
on a low heat
.

Make up pasta as per packet instructions and bish bash bosh.

I topped with HEA cheese and fresh basil leaves.

Have another day out planned for tomorrow but Tesco have visited so hope to eat something a little more flavoursome than plain pasta for lunch.
